The Board of Control for Cricket in India has officially announced the complete league-stage schedule for the Indian Premier League 2026 season.
A total of 70 league matches will be played across 13 venues between March 28 and May 24, marking one of the most expansive editions of the tournament.
The tournament will feature matches hosted in 13 different cities, ensuring wider fan engagement across the country. The schedule was finalised after considering logistical factors, including state Assembly election timelines.
This multi-city format is expected to enhance fan experience and stadium attendance throughout the season.
In a notable change, defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru will not play all their home matches in Bengaluru this season.
For the first time, the team will travel to Raipur to host two matches in May. This move reflects the league’s effort to expand its reach to new venues.
While the league-stage fixtures have been confirmed, details regarding the playoffs and final are yet to be revealed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is expected to announce these dates and venues at a later stage.
Fans will have to wait for further updates to know where the title clash will take place.
The delayed announcement of the full schedule was due to coordination with election schedules in multiple states. This ensured smooth conduct of matches without logistical disruptions.
The league organisers have focused on balancing travel, player workload, and venue availability while finalising the fixtures.
With 70 matches across diverse venues, IPL 2026 promises an action-packed season. The expanded reach and competitive format are expected to deliver high-intensity cricket and strong fan engagement.
Teams will now prepare based on the confirmed schedule, as the race for the IPL title officially begins.
