Pushpa 2 to Release in Japan on January 16, 2026: Rashmika Celebrates Global Expansion

Sukumar’s Pushpa 2: The Rule is set to expand its international footprint, with the blockbuster gearing up for a major theatrical release in Japan. The Allu Arjun–Rashmika Mandanna starrer will hit Japanese theatres on January 16, 2026, marking a significant milestone for the franchise’s global journey.

Geek Pictures India, which is handling the film’s distribution in Japan, announced the release with an enthusiastic message celebrating the film’s massive overseas momentum. The team wrote, “Konnichiwa, Nihon no Tomo yo! Indian cinema’s industry hit blazes into Japan in full force. Pushpa Raj takes over Japan on 16 January 2026.”

Rashmika Mandanna also shared her excitement on X, posting the Japanese trailer and writing, “Konnichiwa, Japan! The wildfire is officially going global.”

The overseas expansion comes at a time when the film continues to dominate long after its original theatrical release on December 5, 2024. Earlier this year, the makers unveiled a reloaded version of the film with 20 minutes of additional footage, which released in theatres on January 17.

Pushpa 2 has broken several box-office records, joining the ₹800-crore club in Hindi and surpassing ₹1,800 crore globally—making it the highest-grossing Indian film of all time. The sequel follows Pushpa Raj’s rise as the leader of a red sandalwood syndicate, deepening his fight to regain control after losing everything.

The Japan release is expected to further strengthen the film’s international impact, bringing the franchise to a wider global audience.
