Thottam Poster Reveals Gritty Avatar of Keerthy Suresh in Dark Malayalam Action Thriller

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam action-thriller Thottam have unveiled a powerful new poster, offering the first intense glimpse into the film’s dark and violent universe. Headlined by National Award-winning actor Keerthy Suresh, the poster signals a dramatic tonal shift and positions the film as one of the more hard-hitting projects lined up for 2026.

Released on social media to mark the start of the new year, the poster presents Keerthy Suresh in a raw, gritty avatar far removed from her recent roles. Clad in a vintage brown outfit, she stands alone on a fog-filled cobblestone street strewn with broken glass. In her hands, she holds a shattered, bloodied wine glass and a worn leather bag, while a violent scuffle between shadowy figures plays out behind her. The imagery hints at chaos, confrontation and a world shaped by brutality rather than heroism.

Accompanying the poster, the makers wrote, “She walks in, and the year begins to burn bright. Wishing you all a fearless New Year. From the world of Thottam,” underlining the film’s rebellious and uncompromising tone. The visual language suggests that Thottam will explore darker emotional and physical terrain, with Keerthy at the centre of its conflict-driven narrative.

Written and directed by Rishi Sivakumar, Thottam marks a significant collaboration between Keerthy Suresh and Antony Varghese, who are sharing screen space for the first time. Antony Varghese, known for his intense performances, appears set to complement the film’s aggressive energy, making the pairing one of the most anticipated aspects of the project.

The film is produced by Monu Pazhedath, A.V. Anoop, Novel Vindhyan and Simmy Rajeevan under the banners of AVA Productions, First Page Entertainment and Maargaa Entertainers. The technical crew adds further weight to the project, with George C. Williams handling cinematography and Harshavardhan Rameshwar composing the music and background score. Together, the team is expected to create a stylised yet grounded action thriller rooted in mood and atmosphere.

Production for Thottam is scheduled to begin in early 2026, with the makers confirming that the film has been in careful pre-production to ensure visual and narrative precision. The poster alone has generated strong curiosity, with audiences noting the shift toward darker storytelling and morally complex characters.

Keerthy Suresh was last seen in Revolver Rita and recently made her Bollywood debut opposite Varun Dhawan in Baby John. Thottam appears to further expand her range, positioning her in a physically demanding and emotionally charged role. Antony Varghese, meanwhile, was last seen in Daveed and has projects like Kattalan and I’m Game in the pipeline.

With its striking visual introduction and promise of high-octane storytelling, Thottam is shaping up as a notable addition to Malayalam cinema’s evolving action-thriller space in 2026.
