UP Hospitals Put on Alert as Swine Flu Concerns Rise, Yogi Orders Preparedness

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed hospitals across the state to remain on alert amid growing concerns over swine flu and instructed officials to closely monitor the situation.

District magistrates and health department officials have been asked to maintain heightened vigilance and regularly review healthcare preparedness. Hospitals have been directed to keep isolation wards ready and ensure sufficient stocks of medicines and testing kits.

Officials have also been instructed to conduct regular reviews of H1N1 cases and report any significant change in the situation to the state government immediately. The measures are aimed at ensuring early detection, timely treatment and effective containment if cases increase.

The alert in Uttar Pradesh comes as neighbouring Delhi continues to report a rise in H1N1 infections. Delhi has recorded more than 2,600 cases so far, including 166 new cases reported within 24 hours.

The increase has prompted Delhi authorities to review hospital preparedness and assess arrangements for managing influenza patients. Health officials are also monitoring the broader rise in respiratory illnesses across the capital.

With H1N1 cases increasing in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh's precautionary measures focus on ensuring hospitals are equipped to respond quickly to any potential rise in infections.
