Delhi Nursery Admissions 2026–27 Begin on December 4: DoE Issues Guidelines for 1,700 Private Schools

The nursery admissions cycle for Delhi’s private schools will officially begin on December 4, 2025, opening applications for Nursery, KG, and Class 1 across more than 1,700 private unaided schools for the 2026–27 academic session.
The Directorate of Education (DoE) has released this year’s detailed schedule and guidelines, emphasising transparency and fairness during the entire process.

A More Transparent Admission Process

The DoE has mandated strict transparency norms to ensure parents can participate fully in selection procedures. Whether a school uses a computerised draw of lots or a manual slip-based draw, the process must be conducted in the presence of parents.

Schools must also announce the date and time of the draw at least two days in advance through their website, notice board or email.

The first admission list will be released on January 23, 2026, followed by the second list on February 9, 2026.
These timelines apply to the general category, which covers 75% of the total seats.
Separate circulars for EWS and Disadvantaged Category admissions will be issued later.

Schools are allowed to charge a non-refundable registration fee of only ₹25, while purchasing a prospectus is strictly optional.
