Indore Girlfriend Murder Case: Accused Shows No Remourse as Probe Reveals Chilling Details

A shocking murder case from Indore has drawn national attention after the accused, identified as Piyush Dhamnotia, reportedly showed no remorse days after allegedly killing his 24-year-old girlfriend. When questioned about his motive while being escorted by police, the accused smiled and stated, “What had to happen has happened,” refusing to provide further explanation.

The disturbing crime came to light on February 13 when residents in Indore’s Dwarkapuri area alerted authorities about a foul smell coming from a rented room. Police broke open the door and discovered the decomposing body of the woman. She was found unclothed, with visible rope marks around her neck, indicating strangulation.

Investigators revealed that the accused and the victim knew each other from their student days and had been in a relationship marked by frequent arguments. Police sources indicated that disputes often revolved around the woman’s desire to get married, a topic that reportedly triggered tension between the two.

According to the investigation, the accused invited the woman to his rented accommodation on February 10 to resolve their differences. During the meeting, the two allegedly engaged in a physical relationship, but another argument broke out over marriage. Authorities believe the dispute escalated into violence, leading to her death.

Police findings suggest the accused restrained the victim by tying her hands and feet and sealing her mouth to prevent her from screaming. He then allegedly strangled her using a rope. Following the incident, he remained in the room, consuming alcohol beside the body before fleeing the scene.

Investigators also revealed that the accused travelled to Panvel after the incident and allegedly used the victim’s phone to send videos portraying her negatively. Digital evidence is currently being examined to verify these actions.

In a development that has further shocked investigators, police said the accused searched the internet and video platforms for ways to communicate with the spirit of the deceased through occult practices. Officers noted that this behaviour could indicate psychological disturbance, though further evaluation may be required.

Authorities have collected forensic evidence, call records and digital data as part of the ongoing investigation. The case has sparked discussions about relationship violence, mental health concerns and the importance of early intervention in abusive dynamics.

Police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and further details may emerge as forensic analysis and digital examinations continue.
