Inside Jeffrey Epstein’s Mansion: Disturbing Art, Costumes and New DOJ Photos

Newly released photographs from inside the Manhattan townhouse of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have revealed disturbing details about his private spaces, offering a grim insight into the environment surrounding one of the most notorious sex-trafficking cases in recent history.

The images, published as part of a fresh document release by the US Department of Justice, were taken inside Epstein’s multi-million-dollar residence and form part of the largest public disclosure linked to the long-running investigation. The New York Times first reported on the photographs.

The visuals show unsettling artworks and displays involving children, including an image of a young boy depicted in a sexually suggestive pose and a macabre sculpture resembling a bride hanging near a staircase. Investigators also documented role-play costumes such as school uniforms and clothing with provocative wording, raising further alarm about the nature of Epstein’s private life.

Additional framed images found inside the residence include photographs of children, one showing a young girl seated on Epstein’s shoulders. Another highly disturbing image displayed on a wall depicted a naked infant sitting in a bathtub. Several of these photographs were reportedly arranged on ornate bookshelves within Epstein’s properties.

A separate batch of photographs released over the weekend showed Epstein kissing and holding young girls. The faces of the minors were redacted by authorities to protect their identities, the Justice Department said.

Some of the images were recovered from Epstein’s private estate on Little St James Island, a secluded property in the US Virgin Islands that locals reportedly referred to as “paedophile island.” Epstein owned two islands in the territory, which prosecutors alleged were used for trafficking and abuse.

Epstein died by apparent suicide in a Manhattan jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges. In 2022, the US Virgin Islands Attorney General reached a settlement exceeding $100 million with Epstein’s estate, alleging that dozens of women and children were trafficked, sexually assaulted, and held captive on the island.

The photographs were released alongside nearly 30,000 pages of Epstein-related records—marking the most extensive disclosure so far—following sustained public and congressional pressure for transparency. However, the release has also drawn criticism over heavy redactions and allegations that not all documents were disclosed within the mandated timeline.

The newly released files reference several high-profile individuals, including Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, the late Michael Jackson, and Prince Andrew. Officials have clarified that many references stem from news clippings or unverified submissions.

Responding to questions, the White House cited a Justice Department note stating that some claims released were unsubstantiated but made public in the interest of transparency. Trump dismissed the disclosures as politically motivated, calling them an attempt to distract from Republican achievements.

The release has reignited debate over accountability, transparency, and the full scope of Epstein’s network, even years after his death.
