Shiprocket Shares List at Rs 131 on NSE, Gain 35% Over IPO Price

Shiprocket made a strong debut on the stock market on Wednesday, August 19, with its shares listing at Rs 131 per share on the NSE, delivering a gain of around 35.05% over the IPO issue price of Rs 97.

The shares were listed on both the BSE and NSE after Shiprocket's Rs 1,617.48 crore initial public offering received strong demand from investors.

The IPO was subscribed 102.28 times during its three-day bidding period. The retail investor portion was subscribed 48.38 times, while the qualified institutional buyers' category saw subscription of 125.20 times.

Shiprocket IPO listing and GMP

Shiprocket's grey market premium (GMP) remained positive before the stock market debut.

The GMP stood at around Rs 33.50 on the allotment day and increased to approximately Rs 36 on the morning of the listing. This had indicated a possible listing price of around Rs 133.

The actual NSE listing at Rs 131 was slightly below the indicative price suggested by the grey market but still represented a substantial premium over the IPO issue price.

However, grey market premiums are unofficial indicators and can change rapidly depending on investor sentiment and market conditions.

What investors will watch after listing

With Shiprocket now becoming a publicly listed company, investor attention is expected to shift from its initial listing performance to its long-term business prospects.

Key areas of focus will include the company's revenue growth, profitability, competitive position and ability to scale its logistics technology platform.

The company will also have to demonstrate that it can sustain growth while managing costs and competing in India's rapidly expanding logistics and e-commerce ecosystem.

The strong subscription numbers and premium listing indicate significant investor interest in Shiprocket, but its performance as a listed company will ultimately depend on its financial results and ability to deliver sustainable growth.
