Jennifer Lawrence Says Trust Made Intimate Scenes with Robert Pattinson Effortless in Die My Love

Jennifer Lawrence is drawing attention once again—not for controversy, but for her candour. Speaking about her upcoming psychological drama Die My Love, the actor opened up about why she chose not to work with an intimacy coordinator during the film’s more vulnerable and physical scenes with co-star Robert Pattinson.

Lawrence explained that the decision came down to one word: trust. The actor said she felt entirely comfortable performing intimate scenes with Pattinson, whom she described as deeply professional and respectful on set. “I felt really safe with Rob,” she shared during a recent podcast appearance. According to her, there was never a moment when she questioned his intentions or felt the need for an intermediary.

She emphasised that Pattinson’s grounded personality contributed greatly to her comfort. “He’s not pervy and he’s very in love with Suki. We mostly talked about our kids and our relationships,” she noted, highlighting the ease of their working dynamic. Lawrence added that had there been even “a tiny bit of weirdness,” she would have insisted on an intimacy coordinator—but that moment never came.

Lawrence, who also appears nude in the film, shot the project while pregnant with her second child. Pregnancy, she said, shifted her perspective on body image and removed lingering insecurities. “I don’t care about nudity. I’m not sensitive about it,” she said, adding that the exhaustion of 15-hour days left little room for vanity.

Working with director Lynne Ramsay, Lawrence intentionally stepped back from controlling how she looked on screen. She shared an anecdote about receiving a close-up shot of cellulite with a question about retouching. Her response was straightforward: “No. That’s an ass.” The actor stressed that her goal was to give Ramsay full artistic freedom and avoid imposing unrealistic standards on her portrayal.

Early critics who attended festival screenings have praised Lawrence’s raw, unfiltered performance, calling it one of her most compelling roles since her Oscar-winning work. The film follows the story of a woman spiraling into emotional and psychological instability after childbirth, with Pattinson playing her husband.

Die My Love is slated for release on November 7 through Mubi, and industry buzz already suggests it could become one of Lawrence's defining performances of the decade.

For Lawrence, the project appears to be a blend of artistic vulnerability, trust in her collaborators, and a willingness to show the complexity of motherhood without filters—literally and metaphorically.
