Asian Games 2026: Complete India Schedule, Dates and Key Events

The 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, will see India compete across a wide range of sports from September 17 to October 3. India's campaign begins with teqball on September 17, followed by the women's cricket quarter-final against Japan and soft tennis action on September 18.

Badminton, hockey, kabaddi and table tennis will form an important part of India's campaign, while athletics is scheduled from September 24 to 29 and is expected to provide several medal opportunities. India will also compete in shooting, boxing, swimming, rowing, wrestling, archery, golf, tennis, volleyball, weightlifting and other disciplines.

The opening days will feature teqball, cricket, soft tennis and several team events. From September 20 onward, Indian athletes will be involved in a packed programme covering shooting, swimming, badminton, hockey, kabaddi, MMA, wushu, table tennis and rowing.

Athletics takes centre stage from September 24, with events including sprints, jumps, throws, relays, distance races and the women's heptathlon. The athletics programme continues through September 29.

India's shooting contingent will compete in air rifle, air pistol, skeet, trap and 50m rifle events, while boxing will feature multiple weight categories throughout the Games. Wrestling events begin in the final week, covering Greco-Roman and freestyle categories.

Cricket will also be a major attraction. India's women's team is scheduled to face Japan in the quarter-final on September 18, with the semi-finals following for teams that qualify. The men's competition begins later, with India's quarter-final scheduled for September 28 and the semi-finals on October 1, subject to qualification.

Indian hockey teams will face opponents including Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Korea, Japan, Singapore and Bangladesh during the pool stages. The knockout and medal matches will take place during the final week.

India's weightlifting campaign includes Rishikanta Singh, Mirabai Chanu, Gyaneshwari Yadav, Seram Nirupama Devi and Harjinder Kaur. Archery, golf, tennis, squash, rugby sevens, volleyball and taekwondo will also feature prominently toward the end of the Games.

The final day, October 3, will include cricket, hockey, golf, rugby sevens, tennis, volleyball and wrestling, bringing India's extensive Asian Games campaign to a close.
