Megha Israni Photography journey began unexpectedly. Born into a Sindhi business family in Mumbai, Megha had not planned to join Israni Photography & Films, a venture started by her brother Luv with a three-member team.
Her entry initially brought new opportunities and rapid growth. However, expansion also exposed several challenges, including family disagreements, inconsistent revenue, staff-related pressures and the seasonal nature of the wedding photography industry.
At a difficult stage in the business, Megha sought professional business coaching. The experience prompted her to rethink existing practices and focus on creating a more structured organisation rather than simply pursuing more sales.
She worked on strengthening teams, defining responsibilities, developing easier-to-buy offerings and improving internal communication. As the relationship between the siblings improved, Luv returned to the business, and the two worked together to strengthen its operations.
The changes eventually translated into significant growth. The business expanded its capacity from around two to six weddings a day and reached approximately 90 weddings annually. Revenue also reportedly doubled despite the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Megha’s experience highlights how business reinvention can involve changing internal systems as much as pursuing new customers. Her journey also demonstrates the importance of communication, clearly defined roles and strong teams in building sustainable growth.
