Filmmaker Nag Ashwin has responded to criticism surrounding the portrayal of Karna in 'Kalki 2898 AD', urging audiences not to judge the story before the release of its sequel.
The director addressed the debate on social media after comparisons emerged between Kalki 2898 AD and the recently released film 'Lenin', with some users questioning his interpretation of the Mahabharata character. Defending his creative vision, Ashwin cited references from the Mahabharata and assured fans that the sequel will provide greater context to the narrative.
The discussion began after the release of Akhil Akkineni's Lenin, when a social media user praised actor Pramod Panju's portrayal of Karna and criticised Kalki 2898 AD for its interpretation of the legendary warrior.
