NDA Delegation Visits Karur After Stampede That Killed 41

An eight-member National Democratic Alliance (NDA) delegation, headed by Member of Parliament Hema Malini, arrived in Karur, Tamil Nadu, to probe the recent stampede that resulted in 41 fatalities. The tragedy occurred during a rally organized by TVK chief Vijay.

The delegation is tasked with collecting detailed information from local authorities and residents to compile a comprehensive report for submission to the NDA National President. Members will also extend condolences to the families of those who lost their lives and visit the injured at hospitals.

An unnamed member of the delegation emphasized the seriousness of the inquiry, stating, “Lessons to be learned from this, who is at fault, what went wrong, so we are here for a serious purpose.” The team comprises representatives from both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha who traveled from multiple states, including Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Odisha, to conduct the investigation.

The NDA delegation’s visit underscores the party’s commitment to accountability and to ensuring that steps are taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
