PM Modi to Visit SRCC Delhi on September 5 for College Centenary Event

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Delhi’s Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) on September 5 as the Chief Guest at a special event marking the college’s 100th anniversary.

The event will coincide with National Teachers’ Day and is expected to be attended by Union Education Minister Pralhad Joshi. The occasion will bring together current students, former principals, retired faculty members and alumni associated with SRCC.

PM Modi’s visit to the Delhi University college comes as the BJP continues to strengthen its outreach towards younger Indians, particularly Gen Z, whose growing role in political and social discussions has gained increasing attention.

The September 5 event will also mark PM Modi’s return to the SRCC campus after more than a decade. He last visited the college in 2013 when he was serving as the Chief Minister of Gujarat.

Earlier this year, PM Modi met the Governing Body and a delegation from SRCC in April as part of the college’s centenary celebrations. During the meeting, a special commemorative postage stamp was released to mark 100 years of SRCC.

His upcoming visit will further strengthen the association with the college’s centenary celebrations and bring the commemorative event directly to the SRCC campus.

Preparations for the Prime Minister’s visit are already underway, with security arrangements being put in place ahead of the September 5 programme. Special Protection Group personnel have reportedly begun preparations on the campus.

The event is expected to have a wider institutional significance, with multiple generations connected to SRCC, including present students, alumni and former faculty members, expected to participate in the centenary celebrations.

The Prime Minister’s visit to one of Delhi University’s prominent commerce colleges will also place him before a large audience of young and educated students as political outreach towards India’s younger generation continues to remain an important focus.
