Premanand Maharaj Disciple Death: Grinder, Bloodstains and CCTV Raise Questions

The death of Premanand Maharaj’s disciple Rashik Dulari Sharan in Vrindavan has raised several questions as investigators examine what happened before his fatal fall from the fourth floor of an ashram building. Police are treating the incident as a suspected suicide but are investigating circumstances surrounding the death.

Rashik Dulari Sharan, whose earlier name was Deepak Lodhi, had taken initiation from spiritual leader Premanand Maharaj around two years ago. He died after falling from the fourth-floor terrace of Guru Kripa Kunj in Vrindavan on September 25.

What Happened Before the Fall?

According to CCTV footage examined by police, Sharan left his room around 10:25 am. His clothes appeared to have bloodstains. He later moved towards the fourth-floor terrace, where he was seen sitting and subsequently lying on the ground for several seconds.

At around 10:36 am, he jumped from the terrace. He sustained serious injuries and was taken to a private hospital, where he was declared dead.

Police have reconstructed this sequence from CCTV footage while continuing to investigate events immediately before the fall.

Grinder Found Inside Room

Investigators found a grinder inside the room where Sharan was staying. Police have also said that an injury involving his private area was identified during the investigation.

The circumstances behind that injury remain unclear. Police have seized CCTV equipment and sent a blood sample for forensic examination.

Mobile Phone Data Under Investigation

Investigators are also examining Sharan’s mobile phone. The device has been sent for forensic data recovery to determine whether deleted photographs, videos, chats or other information can be retrieved.

People staying at the ashram and individuals who were around Sharan have also been questioned. Police have said that no clear reason for his suspected suicide has been established so far.

The post-mortem examination attributed the death to excessive bleeding, according to police.

Saints Demand High-Level Probe

The incident has also prompted demands for a detailed investigation from saints in Vrindavan. A meeting was held in which members of the saint community called for the circumstances surrounding Sharan’s death to be examined thoroughly.

For now, CCTV footage and forensic evidence remain central to the investigation. The reported injury, the material found inside the room and any recoverable digital data could help investigators establish what happened in the final hours before his death.
