Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has invited people to visit Ayodhya for its 10th grand Deepotsav celebrations, highlighting the festival's role in promoting cultural heritage and supporting local livelihoods. He said the annual event is creating economic opportunities for potters, farmers, labourers and small traders while strengthening the city's spiritual identity.

In a post on X on Monday, November 2, Adityanath said every earthen lamp lit during Deepotsav represents an opportunity for a local family. He described the celebrations as a way of connecting religious faith with economic activity and community development.

The chief minister also credited the state government's initiatives since 2017 with linking Ayodhya's cultural potential to the prosperity of local artisans and businesses.

Deepotsav Connects Cultural Heritage With Local Economy

Adityanath said the festival, celebrated with millions of lamps, was generating new work and business opportunities for people involved in traditional crafts and local trade.

He noted that the earthen lamps illuminating Ayodhya also support the livelihoods of potters and other workers involved in their production and sale.

Referring to the government's approach under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance, he said Deepotsav had become an occasion to promote both faith and economic activity.

The chief minister described the festival as a symbol of India's cultural pride and the revival of its traditional consciousness.

Ayodhya Welcomes Visitors for Its 10th Deepotsav

In a separate message addressed to the people of Uttar Pradesh, Adityanath invited visitors to experience the celebrations in Ayodhya.

He described Deepotsav as a symbolic journey from darkness to light, despair to hope and faith to progress. The festival, he said, represents more than the lighting of lamps and reflects India's cultural heritage.

Describing the celebrations, the chief minister referred to the illuminated banks of the Saryu River and millions of lamps at Ram Ki Paidi. Drone displays and performances by artists are also adding to the festive atmosphere.

Yogi Urges People to Help Disadvantaged Families

Adityanath also appealed to residents to include economically disadvantaged families in their Diwali celebrations.

He encouraged people to gift lamps, sweets and new clothes to families in need, according to their means. He further urged citizens to purchase earthen lamps and other products directly from local artisans to support their work.

The chief minister said the spirit of Deepotsav lies not only in celebrating traditions but also in sharing happiness and creating opportunities for others.

The celebrations are therefore being presented as a combination of religious devotion, cultural revival, local economic support and community participation.
