Sunny & Esha Deol Share Emotional Tributes on Dharmendra’s 90th Birth Anniversary
On what would have been Dharmendra’s 90th birthday on December 8, the late actor’s children — Sunny Deol and Esha Deol — shared deeply emotional tributes, marking their first public expressions of grief since the legendary star passed away on November 24.
Sunny Deol posted a nostalgic video capturing a warm moment from a past mountain vacation with his father. In the clip, Sunny asks, “So Papa, enjoying?” to which Dharmendra replies with a radiant smile, “I am really enjoying, my son. It is lovely.”
Sharing the video, Sunny wrote, “Today is my father’s birthday. Papa is always with me, inside me. Love you, Papa. Miss you.” This is his first personal message since Dharmendra’s hospitalisation and eventual demise, after which the Deol family had requested privacy.
Esha Deol also honoured her father with a heartfelt note, calling their bond eternal.
She wrote, “To my darling Papa… we are always together — in this lifetime, across realms, and beyond. I have tenderly tucked you in my heart forever. The memories, lessons, love and strength you gave me can never be replaced.”
Expressing her grief, she added, “I painfully miss your warm hugs, your hands that spoke without words, your voice calling my name, and our endless conversations. I promise to carry forward your legacy with pride and spread your love to millions who adored you.”
Dharmendra, one of Hindi cinema’s most beloved stars, is survived by his children from both marriages — Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta, Ajeita, Esha and Ahana. Since his passing, the family has largely remained away from public attention, making today’s tributes especially poignant for his fans.
