A moving moment unfolded on the sets of Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 as Amitabh Bachchan paid a heartfelt tribute to his longtime friend and legendary actor Dharmendra, revisiting memories that span decades of Indian cinema.
In a recently released promo, Bachchan reflected on Dharmendra’s enduring spirit as an artist and spoke emotionally about his final film Ikkis, calling it a precious legacy left behind for generations. He described Dharmendra not merely as a colleague, but as family and an inspiration whose presence continues through memories and emotions that refuse to fade.
Sharing a deeply personal anecdote, Bachchan recalled a powerful moment from their iconic collaboration Sholay. He spoke about a scene filmed in Bengaluru, where Dharmendra’s physical strength and instinctive performance transformed real pain into raw, authentic emotion on screen, elevating the scene into one of cinema’s most memorable moments.
The tribute was further enriched by director Sriram Raghavan, who described himself as fortunate to work with Dharmendra in Ikkis, calling the role one of the finest performances of the veteran actor’s career. Actor Jaideep Ahlawat also shared his experience, noting that Dharmendra’s presence on set felt warm and familial rather than that of a distant superstar.
The emotional segment transformed the KBC stage into a moment of quiet reflection, celebrating Dharmendra’s legacy as an artist whose influence goes far beyond films, living on through stories, performances and the lives he touched.
