Trump Rejects Health Concerns, Says No President Has Worked Harder Amid NYT Report

US President Donald Trump on Wednesday issued a forceful rebuttal to reports questioning his stamina, health and public schedule, insisting he remains in “perfect” physical and cognitive condition. His comments follow a New York Times report citing fewer public events, reduced domestic travel and an instance in which he appeared to briefly doze off during an Oval Office meeting.

In a lengthy post on Truth Social, Trump said, “There has never been a President that has worked as hard as me,” asserting that his work hours were the “longest” and his accomplishments unmatched. He listed what he claimed as major achievements—from ending “Eight Wars” and creating the “Greatest Economy in US history” to enforcing border security and delivering record tax cuts.

Trump said he undergoes detailed medical evaluations at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, claiming doctors have given him “perfect marks.” He added that he has taken three cognitive tests, all of which he says he “aced.”

Growing scrutiny over health

Trump has faced recurring questions about his physical condition. During a recent trip to Asia, he disclosed undergoing an MRI in October but said the results were “as good as they’ve ever seen.” Observers have also noted a bruise on his hand, attributed by aides to aspirin use and handshakes, along with swollen ankles.

The NYT report highlighted changes in his routine, including a narrower public schedule between noon and 5 pm and less frequent domestic travel. Trump rejected the report as a “hit piece,” calling the publication “seditious, perhaps even treasonous,” and said it should “cease publication.”

White House defends Trump

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt dismissed suggestions of health concerns, contrasting Trump’s transparency with what she described as the Biden administration’s handling of President Biden’s cognitive health.

At 79, Trump is the oldest elected US President. Public debate over age and stamina continues as he prepares for the 2026 midterms and key domestic and global engagements. His forceful pushback signals that he intends to confront the age narrative head-on.
