UP Family Offers ₹10,000 Reward to Find Missing Cat ‘Hoor’ in Deoria

A family in Uttar Pradesh’s Deoria has announced a reward of ₹10,000 for information leading to the recovery of their missing pet cat, sparking widespread attention and community involvement in the town.

The white Persian–Indian mixed breed cat, named Hoor, went missing from New Colony, a residential area near Gurudwara Square, on December 21. Since then, the family has been actively searching for the pet, putting up posters at prominent intersections and circulating appeals across the neighbourhood.

According to the family, Hoor slipped out of the house after a courtyard door was accidentally left open. Despite multiple leads and reported sightings, none have so far resulted in locating the cat.

After days of unsuccessful efforts, the cat’s owner filed an online complaint on December 29, following which a formal report was submitted to the local police station. The family has also informed sanitation workers and residents in nearby areas, hoping someone might spot the missing pet during daily routines.

Posters featuring Hoor’s photograph promise a cash reward of ₹10,000 to anyone who finds or returns the cat, or provides credible information about her whereabouts. The appeal has drawn sympathy from residents, many of whom have joined the search.

Police officials confirmed that action has been initiated following the complaint and said efforts are underway to assist the family in tracing the missing pet.
