UP STF Arrests Rs 50,000 Reward Cow Slaughter Accused in Chandauli

The Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a man wanted in a cow slaughter case who had been absconding for a long period and carried a reward of Rs 50,000 on his arrest.

The accused, identified as Arif Hussain, was apprehended during a targeted operation in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh, officials said. Authorities confirmed that he had been evading law enforcement agencies for a significant time before being traced by the STF.

Arrest After Long Search Operation

According to officials, Arif Hussain, son of Najakat Hussain, had been on the run since a case related to illegal cow slaughter was registered against him.

The Uttar Pradesh STF launched a sustained search operation to locate the accused. After gathering intelligence inputs and tracking his movements, the team conducted an operation in Chandauli district that led to his arrest.

The authorities had earlier announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000 for information leading to his capture.

Investigation Still Underway

Police officials said that further investigation is ongoing to determine whether the accused was linked to any organised illegal slaughter network operating in the region.

Investigators are also examining possible connections with other suspects who may have assisted him in evading arrest.

Law enforcement agencies are working to identify additional individuals involved in the alleged activities.

Strict Enforcement Against Illegal Slaughter

Uttar Pradesh authorities have intensified action against illegal cow slaughter and cattle smuggling in recent years.

Special teams, including the STF and local police units, regularly conduct operations to identify and arrest individuals involved in such activities.

Officials say the crackdown is aimed at ensuring compliance with state laws related to animal protection and preventing organised illegal trade.

Local Authorities Continue Monitoring

Following the arrest, police teams are continuing surveillance and intelligence gathering in the region to identify any remaining suspects linked to the case.

Authorities have also appealed to citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing information about illegal activities.

The arrest of the accused is seen as a significant development in the ongoing investigation, with officials stating that further action will depend on the findings of the probe.
