World’s Best Workplaces 2025: 16 of Top 25 Companies Operate in India, Fortune Report Reveals

India’s position in the global corporate landscape has received a major boost, with 16 of the world’s top 25 best workplaces now operating in the country, according to the Fortune World’s Best Workplaces 2025 list released by Great Place To Work and Fortune Media.

The ranking is based on more than 9 million survey responses across 2024 and 2025, reflecting the experiences of over 25 million employees worldwide. Companies were evaluated on key cultural pillars such as trust, pride, fairness, and camaraderie.

This year’s list highlights multinational organisations that have managed to sustain strong, people-driven cultures while handling large global workforces and complex business structures.

To qualify, organisations needed to employ at least 5,000 people globally and consistently rank high across multiple regional workplace assessments conducted by Great Place To Work.

Global Leaders Top the List

Hilton secured the No. 1 position for 2025, followed by DHL Express and Cisco. The list features several global giants, including Accenture, Marriott International, Nvidia, Adobe, Siemens Healthineers, Salesforce, Stryker, Allianz, Dow, and SC Johnson.

Notably, 16 out of the 25 companies have significant operations in India, reinforcing the country’s rising role in shaping global workplace culture.

India’s Expanding Workplace Influence

Alyson Shontell, editor-in-chief of Fortune, said the 2025 list recognises companies that empower employees and enable them to do their best work.

Balbir Singh, CEO of Great Place To Work India, highlighted India’s increasing impact on global work culture, noting that “great culture transcends borders” and that India’s strong representation in the rankings underscores its growing influence.

How the Rankings Are Measured

The companies are selected through Great Place To Work’s global methodology, which includes:

  • Appearance on at least five regional Best Workplaces lists across Asia, Europe, Africa, Latin America, North America or Australia

  • Use of the Great Place To Work Trust Index survey

  • Demonstrated excellence in leadership, respect, fairness, inclusion, innovation and community impact

Michael C. Bush, CEO of Great Place To Work, said these organisations have built a “sacred trust” with their employees and are committed to helping them grow personally and professionally.

India’s strong presence in the list further strengthens its position as a key hub for global talent, innovation and workplace culture.
