With the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 just around the corner, the countdown has officially begun. The exam is scheduled for November 30 and will be conducted in three shifts by IIM Kozhikode, which is overseeing the national-level management entrance test this year. As aspirants enter the final and most crucial stage of preparation, the focus has now shifted toward full-length mock tests—one of the biggest score boosters in the final week.
Coaching experts firmly believe that the difference between a 95 percentile and a 99+ percentile often lies in mock test performance. While conceptual clarity is essential, CAT ultimately tests how strategically and efficiently candidates perform on the day of the exam.
In the final seven days, aspirants should prioritise three things:
Consolidation of strengths
Revision of high-impact topics
Refining test-taking strategy and time management
This week is not the time to learn new concepts but to sharpen accuracy, minimise errors, and work on speed.
To help students evaluate their current performance level, Oswaal Books has released a full-length mock paper designed according to the latest CAT pattern. Aspirants are encouraged to attempt this mock test in a timed environment to gauge:
Accuracy in Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Speed in Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Consistency in Quantitative Aptitude (QA)
Solving high-quality mock tests can reveal weak spots, improve sectional timing, and strengthen decision-making under pressure—skills essential for cracking CAT.
In the last stretch before the exam, candidates must double down on familiar and high-weightage topics instead of exploring new areas. Even marginal improvements in these sections can unlock several additional marks and significantly lift overall percentile.
Experts also advise:
Revising formulae and key shortcuts
Solving two to three mocks across the week
Analysing each mock carefully
Avoiding panic and maintaining consistent routines
CAT 2025 aspirants must now blend strategy with discipline. The right combination of practice, accuracy, and calmness can make a decisive difference on exam day.
