CGPSC Postpones State Service 2025 Interviews, Fresh Dates to Follow

The Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) has postponed document verification and interviews for the State Service Examination 2025, just four days before the process was scheduled to begin. In a notice issued on Wednesday, the commission cited “unavoidable circumstances” and said revised dates would be announced on its official website.

The recruitment process covers 265 posts across 20 departments of the Chhattisgarh government. Document verification and interviews had been scheduled from September 20 to October 1.

The State Service Preliminary Examination was conducted on February 22, 2026, followed by the Main Examination at centres in Ambikapur, Bilaspur, Durg, Jagdalpur and Raipur.

The postponement comes amid demands from Congress leaders for greater transparency in evaluation and candidate shortlisting. Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel had sought a delay, along with publication of answer sheets, access to evaluated copies for candidates, disclosure of evaluation criteria and model answers, re-evaluation, and adherence to a 1:3 shortlisting ratio for interviews.

Congress has alleged irregularities in answer-sheet evaluation and questioned the number of shortlisted candidates. The BJP has rejected these allegations, stating that qualifying marks are prescribed and evaluation is conducted by subject experts while keeping candidates’ identities confidential.

Candidates have been advised to monitor the CGPSC website for the revised schedule.
