Faridabad Man Arrested for Killing 4-Year-Old Daughter Over Homework

A shocking case of alleged child abuse has emerged from Faridabad, where a four-year-old girl died after being assaulted by her father over a homework-related issue. The incident, which has sparked widespread outrage, occurred inside the family’s rented residence and has raised serious concerns about child safety and parental pressure on young children.

According to police officials, the accused, identified as 31-year-old Krishna Jaiswal, allegedly lost his temper when his daughter failed to complete a writing task assigned during a homeschooling session. The child was reportedly asked to write numbers from one to 50. When she struggled with the task, the father is said to have assaulted her, causing severe injuries that proved fatal.

The incident took place on January 21 while the child’s mother was away at work. Both parents are employed in private companies, and the father was responsible for taking care of the children during the day. Police stated that the assault occurred inside the house, and no one else was present at the time.

The matter came to light later in the evening when the child’s mother returned home and found her daughter lying motionless. She immediately informed the police. A team from the local police station reached the spot, took the body into custody, and initiated an investigation.

Following a preliminary inquiry, police arrested the accused and registered a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. He was produced before a city court and has been sent to one-day police remand for further questioning. Authorities said the post-mortem examination confirmed that the child died due to injuries sustained during the assault.

Police officials stated that the accused is a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Sonbhadra district and had been residing in Faridabad with his family for work. Investigators are examining whether there were previous instances of violence or abuse in the household.

The incident has reignited discussions around parenting stress, unrealistic academic expectations, and the vulnerability of young children within domestic spaces.
