Prashanth Neel-Backed Horror Film 418 Faces CBFC Objection, Makers Approach Revising Committee

Prashanth Neel-backed horror film 418 has reportedly run into a certification hurdle, with the makers approaching the Revising Committee after facing objections during the CBFC certification process.

The upcoming horror film marks the directorial debut of Kirtan Nadagouda and is being presented by Prashanth Neel, known for directing the KGF franchise and Salaar. The project is produced by Mythri Movie Makers.

Reports suggest that the film faced objections related to the intensity of its horror content, delaying its certification and theatrical release plans. The makers have now reportedly moved the matter to the Revising Committee in an attempt to secure clearance for the film.

418 was initially expected to arrive in theatres on July 31. However, the release did not take place as planned because the certification process remained incomplete. A fresh release date is expected to be announced after the certification issue is resolved.

The development has also triggered reactions on social media, with several users pointing out the irony of a horror film reportedly facing objections for containing strong horror elements. Some viewers argued that the genre itself requires frightening and intense elements, while others suggested that an appropriate adult certification could allow the film to release without major changes.

The film stars Surya Raj, Charan Lakkaraju and Preethi Pagadal in the lead roles. Director Kirtan Nadagouda previously worked as an assistant director with Prashanth Neel before making his directorial debut with 418.

Details about the storyline remain largely undisclosed, but the film has attracted attention because of its horror genre and Prashanth Neel's association with the project.

For now, the theatrical future of 418 remains uncertain. The makers are expected to announce a new release date once the certification process and Revising Committee review are completed.
