The ISL title sponsor is set to change ahead of the 2026-27 season, with MG Motor reportedly close to finalising a two-year sponsorship agreement worth more than Rs 25 crore. The deal would bring a title sponsor back to the Indian Super League after a three-season gap following Hero MotoCorp’s departure.
The final paperwork is reportedly in its closing stages. If completed, the competition could be branded as the MG Indian Super League, with the MG logo also expected to appear on the league’s crest. The reported agreement is also understood to include a car for the league’s best player at the end of each season, with the award reportedly valued at around Rs 25 lakh.
Hero MotoCorp had served as the ISL’s title sponsor from the competition’s inaugural season in 2014 through 2022-23. Its exit left the league without a title sponsor for the following three seasons, making the reported MG Motor agreement a notable commercial development.
The 2026-27 ISL season is scheduled to begin on October 10, with Bengaluru FC hosting Sporting Club Delhi before FC Goa face Chennaiyin FC later that day.
Parth Jindal’s connection to MG Motor and football
The reported partnership comes after Parth Jindal took over as chairman of JSW MG Motor India. Jindal has also been involved with Indian football through JSW Sports, which owns and operates Bengaluru FC.
However, there is no confirmed information establishing Jindal’s personal involvement in the reported sponsorship agreement. His roles simply connect organisations that have links to the ISL.

ISL enters a new commercial phase
The reported sponsorship comes as the ISL moves towards a more club-led structure, with participating teams taking greater responsibility for the competition’s commercial and operational direction.
The new approach could give clubs a larger role in revenue generation and commercial planning while requiring greater coordination over broadcasting, sponsorships, scheduling and competition standards.
The league has also added other commercial partnerships involving areas such as data, technology and equipment ahead of the new campaign. The upcoming season will include matches in new venues, including an Imphal fixture involving NorthEast United FC and Sporting Club Delhi on November 24.
