Muzaffarnagar Fog Crash: Dense Fog Triggers Multi-Vehicle Pile-Up on UP Highway

A dense fog cover in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarnagar triggered a multi-vehicle pile-up on the Panipat–Khatima road on Thursday morning, involving more than half a dozen vehicles, including a school bus and a truck. Several people sustained minor injuries as low visibility caused vehicles to collide in quick succession after a truck first rammed into a divider.

Visuals showed severely damaged cars, debris scattered across the highway, and police along with locals clearing the wreckage. The crash led to a massive traffic jam that took several hours to resolve. Eyewitnesses reported extremely poor visibility due to fog and industrial smoke, noting that even slow-moving vehicles were unable to avoid the crash sequence.

Police confirmed no major injuries and said an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause and whether additional factors contributed to the incident.
