Nandika Dwivedi Denies Cheating Rumours After Smriti Mandhana–Palaash Muchhal Wedding Postponement

The postponement of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palaash Muchhal’s wedding has taken an unexpected turn after online speculation linked the delay to alleged infidelity. Rumours circulating on social media claimed Palaash cheated with a choreographer, prompting widespread debate. With names such as Nandika Dwivedi and Gulnaaz being dragged into the controversy, both have now issued strong denials.

On Friday, choreographer Nandika Dwivedi released a detailed Instagram statement, unequivocally rejecting allegations that she played any role in causing strain in Smriti and Palaash’s relationship. She addressed the issue publicly to combat “false narratives” amplified online.

Speaking about the emotional toll, Nandika wrote, “Assumptions that I disrupted anyone’s relationship are NOT true. It’s painful to watch a story build around something I am completely uninvolved in. These rumours have affected people I care about and have taken a toll on my mental health.”

She criticised several media outlets for circulating unverified Reddit posts, adding that she has been receiving threats, which forced her to make her account private. She appealed to the public to stop spreading misinformation, emphasising that she has worked hard to build her career in Mumbai and does not want her name dragged into baseless claims.

Choreographer Gulnaaz, who was also named in online speculation, similarly released a statement denying any involvement.

The wedding was originally halted because Smriti Mandhana’s father, Shrinivas Mandhana, fell ill and was rushed to a Sangli hospital after symptoms of a heart attack on the wedding day. A day later, Palaash himself was hospitalised. His mother stated that Palaash shared a close bond with Smriti’s father, and out of respect, chose not to proceed with the ceremony until he recovered.

Following her father’s hospitalisation, Smriti removed all pre-wedding posts from her Instagram account. Meanwhile, Palaash’s cousin Neeti Tak defended him online, stressing that he is in a critical condition and that cheating rumours are unfounded.

As the families focus on recovery and stability, both choreographers have urged the public to refrain from spreading misinformation, insisting the truth will eventually prevail.
