Actor Niddhi Agerwal has shared her first social media post following the mobbing incident that occurred during promotions for her upcoming film The Raja Saab at a Hyderabad mall. The incident, which raised serious concerns over celebrity safety and crowd management, had gone viral on social media after videos showed the actor struggling to move through an uncontrollable crowd.
On Thursday, Niddhi took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to share a video of herself dancing to Sahana Sahana, a song from The Raja Saab. Acknowledging the overwhelming response from fans, she wrote, “Thank you for the overwhelming response to #SahanaSahana. Your love has made this moment truly special.” The post marked her first public communication after the chaotic incident.
The Hyderabad mall event was organised as part of promotional activities for the song launch from the Prabhas-starrer. However, what was intended to be a celebratory fan interaction quickly escalated into a dangerous situation as hundreds of fans gathered at the venue. Visuals circulating online showed Niddhi surrounded by a dense crowd, with little space to move as fans surged forward to take selfies and videos.
As the situation worsened, security personnel appeared overwhelmed, and the actor’s exit route was repeatedly blocked. Several clips showed fans pressing in from all sides, forcing Niddhi to pause multiple times while attempting to reach her vehicle. The lack of effective crowd control triggered widespread criticism online, with many questioning the preparedness of the organisers.
According to KPHB Inspector S Rajashekar Reddy, the organisers had not obtained the mandatory permissions required to conduct a public promotional event at the mall. Following the incident, Hyderabad police registered a suo motu case, taking cognisance of the safety risks posed to both the actor and the public.
Officials stated that the case was initiated after reviewing video footage and assessing the crowd situation, which could have resulted in serious injuries. Investigations are currently underway to determine accountability, including the role of event organisers and mall management in ensuring adequate security arrangements.
The incident has reignited discussions around celebrity safety, especially during public appearances at enclosed spaces such as malls. Industry observers have pointed out that promotional events involving film stars often attract massive crowds, making advance planning and coordination with local authorities essential.
Despite the ordeal, Niddhi Agerwal’s social media post struck a positive and composed note, focusing on gratitude rather than the controversy. Fans and fellow actors have since flooded her comments section with messages of support, praising her calm response and urging organisers to prioritise safety in future events.
The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi and starring Prabhas in the lead role, remains one of the most anticipated releases, with promotions continuing amid heightened scrutiny over event planning and crowd control.
