Prabhas’ Spirit Release Date Confirmed: Sandeep Reddy Vanga Locks March 2027

The release calendar for pan-India cinema continues to expand, and March has once again emerged as a high-stakes window for major theatrical launches. Adding to the growing list of big-ticket releases, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga has officially confirmed that his upcoming film Spirit, starring Prabhas, will release in cinemas on March 5, 2027.

The filmmaker put an end to months of speculation by unveiling a release-date poster on social media. With a brief but definitive caption, Vanga confirmed that Spirit will arrive in theatres in early 2027, dismissing earlier reports that suggested a possible December 2026 release. The announcement immediately triggered widespread discussion among fans and trade circles, particularly given the scale of anticipation surrounding the project.

Spirit marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, a pairing that has generated significant buzz since the project was first announced. Known for his intense storytelling style and uncompromising character arcs, Vanga is expected to present Prabhas in a never-seen-before avatar. While plot details remain tightly guarded, industry observers believe the film will explore darker emotional and psychological layers, staying true to the director’s signature approach.

The film stars Tripti Dimri as the female lead, with Prakash Raj, Vivek Oberoi and Kanchana playing pivotal supporting roles. Reports have also suggested the involvement of Korean action star Ma Dong-seok, though an official confirmation regarding his role is still awaited.

Production on Spirit formally commenced earlier this year with a launch ceremony that drew attention across the industry. Veteran actor Chiranjeevi was present at the event and gave the ceremonial first clap, lending additional significance to the project. On Prabhas’ birthday, the makers further fuelled excitement by releasing a “sound story” teaser, offering a glimpse into the film’s intense mood through voiceovers by Prabhas and Prakash Raj.

The first-look poster of Spirit, released on New Year’s Eve, quickly went viral, sparking fan edits, speculation and massive engagement across platforms. The stark visual tone hinted at a gritty, character-driven narrative, reinforcing expectations that the film will push boundaries within mainstream Indian cinema.

Spirit is presented by T-Series in association with Bhadrakali Pictures. The film is written, edited and directed by Vanga himself and is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga.

Meanwhile, Prabhas was last seen in the Sankranti release The Raja Saab, which featured Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar alongside him. With Spirit now officially dated, anticipation is expected to intensify as the film moves deeper into production.
