Rahul Gandhi Accuses Election Chief Gyanesh Kumar of Shielding ‘Vote Chors’

Rahul Gandhi Blasts Election Chief Over Alleged Mass Voter Deletions

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, on Thursday intensified his attack on Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, accusing him of shielding individuals “murdering Indian democracy” by withholding information on alleged mass voter deletions across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a press conference, Gandhi challenged the Election Commission to provide complete details of the deletions within one week.

He highlighted the Aland constituency in Karnataka, where he claimed 6,018 votes were deleted using software and mobile numbers from outside the state. Gandhi displayed the phone numbers allegedly linked to these deletions to substantiate his claim.

The Congress leader further alleged that the Karnataka CID had sent 18 letters over 18 months to the Election Commission seeking IP addresses and OTP data related to the deletions, but received no response.

"The reason the Election Commission is not responding is because these details would reveal the source of this centralised operation," Gandhi said.

He questioned the accountability of the poll body, stating, “Who is the someone? The Election Commission of India knows, but is not sharing. CEC Gyanesh Kumar is not telling the Karnataka CID who is doing it.”

Gandhi’s remarks underline the growing political friction over electoral integrity and raise fresh questions about transparency within the Election Commission.
