Rahul Gandhi Alleges Systematic Voter Deletions in Karnataka, Presents ‘Proof’

Rahul Gandhi Accuses BJP and EC of Systematic Voter Deletions in Karnataka

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday escalated his vote theft allegations, presenting what he termed proof of systematic voter manipulation in Karnataka, with the Aland constituency as a primary example.

At a press conference in Delhi, Gandhi detailed how names were allegedly removed from electoral rolls through software manipulation and fake applications.

"Aland is a constituency in Karnataka. Somebody tried to delete 6,018 votes," Gandhi claimed. He added that the actual number of deletions could be much higher but that this instance was discovered by coincidence.

Gandhi explained that the irregularity came to light when a booth-level officer noticed her uncle’s name missing from the voter list. Investigation revealed that neither the person deleting the vote nor the voter knew who was behind it.

He alleged that the deletions were part of a centralised, automated scheme, exploiting software and mobile numbers from different states. According to Gandhi, the system targeted the first name at a booth and used external cell phones to file fraudulent applications.

Stepping up his attack, Gandhi accused Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar of shielding “vote chors” and undermining democratic processes.

"I am not saying this lightly as the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. The Chief Election Commissioner of India is protecting vote thieves. This is black and white evidence," he asserted.

Gandhi further said that Karnataka investigators have repeatedly requested digital leads from the Election Commission, which he claims have been ignored.

"The CID of Karnataka has sent 18 letters in 18 months to the EC asking for basic facts. They are not providing it because it would reveal where the operation originates, and we are convinced about its trajectory," he added.

Earlier this month, following his Voter Adhikar Yatra, Gandhi promised his party would release a “hydrogen bomb” of irrefutable evidence regarding vote theft. While Thursday’s presser was not the H-bomb, he assured that it was forthcoming.
