Monsoon Rain Forecast: Heavy Rain Likely Across UP, MP, Uttarakhand and Other States

The southwest monsoon is expected to remain active across large parts of north, central and eastern India, with several states likely to receive widespread rainfall and isolated heavy to very heavy showers over the coming days.

A well-marked low-pressure area over northeast Madhya Pradesh and adjoining regions is driving the current weather pattern. The position of the monsoon trough is also contributing to continued rainfall activity across several parts of the country.

The heaviest rainfall is expected in parts of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. East Madhya Pradesh is likely to receive isolated very heavy rainfall, while West Madhya Pradesh may continue to experience isolated heavy showers over the next several days.

Rainfall activity is also expected to remain strong in Uttar Pradesh. Parts of West Uttar Pradesh are likely to receive widespread rainfall, while rain activity may shift towards East Uttar Pradesh in the coming days, with fairly widespread showers and isolated heavy rainfall possible.

Uttarakhand is expected to remain particularly wet, with fairly widespread to widespread rainfall forecast along with isolated heavy spells. Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir are also likely to experience widespread rainfall, with heavy showers possible in some areas.

Delhi-NCR is expected to witness generally cloudy conditions, with rainfall likely to occur in intermittent spells rather than continuously. While isolated heavy rainfall is possible across parts of Delhi and neighbouring areas, the detailed forecast indicates very light to light rain in many locations, with moderate showers possible at isolated places.

Haryana and Chandigarh are also expected to experience periods of rainfall as the active monsoon conditions continue across north India.

Beyond the northern and central regions, Bihar is likely to receive fairly widespread rainfall, while Chhattisgarh is expected to remain under continued rain activity. Odisha is likely to experience widespread rainfall over several days.

Rainfall activity is also expected to continue across Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, keeping weather conditions active across parts of eastern India.

The current weather pattern points towards a sustained monsoon phase rather than a short-lived spell of rainfall. The low-pressure system and monsoon trough are expected to keep rain activity active across large parts of north, central and eastern India over the coming days.
