The trailer of The Revolutionaries, an upcoming period drama based on India’s freedom struggle, has been released ahead of the series’ premiere on September 11, 2026. The Prime Video series follows a group of young revolutionaries who choose armed resistance against British rule.
Created and directed by Nikkhil Advani, The Revolutionaries is based on Sanjeev Sanyal’s non-fiction book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom. The series brings together Bhuvan Bam, Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta and Gurfateh Pirzada in the lead roles.
Bhuvan Bam plays Rash Behari Bose, while Rohit Saraf portrays Sachindra Nath Sanyal. Gurfateh Pirzada takes on the role of Bagha Jatin, and Pratibha Ranta plays Pratibha Lahiri.
Set during the Indian freedom struggle, the story follows four young individuals as they organise resistance against the British Empire. The trailer showcases action, confrontations, chases and the personal sacrifices made by the revolutionaries as they fight for India’s freedom.
The series also features General Dyer, played by Jason Shah, as one of the British forces pursuing the revolutionaries. Along with the central cast, Paoli Dam and Tota Roy Chowdhury also appear in important roles.
Bhuvan Bam described the series as a story that moves beyond the conventional portrayal of freedom fighters and focuses on young people driven by conviction, friendship and sacrifice. Speaking about his role, he said Rash Behari Bose was known as a master of disguise who infiltrated British camps.
Rohit Saraf said portraying Sachindra Nath Sanyal allowed him to explore a completely new world both physically and emotionally. He highlighted the revolutionary’s innocence and unwavering conviction as qualities that make the character relatable even today.
Pratibha Ranta described her character, Pratibha Lahiri, as a progressive young woman trying to find her voice in a male-dominated world while also participating in the freedom movement.
Gurfateh Pirzada said playing Bagha Jatin introduced him to a lesser-known chapter of India’s freedom struggle. He added that the series has been designed to feel youthful, fast-paced and action-driven rather than following the format of a conventional period drama.
Produced by Monisha Advani and Madhu Bhojwani under Emmay Entertainment, The Revolutionaries is written by Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, Akshita Wadhwana, Shobhit Narang and Rutvi Mehta.
The series will begin streaming on Prime Video from September 11, 2026, in Hindi, along with dubbed versions in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Bengali.
