Samay Raina Reacts to Claim India’s Got Latent Shoot Halted Over Mukesh Chhabra Joke

Comedian Samay Raina has responded to an unverified social media claim surrounding the latest episode of India’s Got Latent, in which a joke about casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s girlfriend became a topic of online discussion. Raina reposted the claim on Instagram Stories and responded with a humorous reference to Shaktimaan and comedian Sunil Pal.

The controversy stems from an episode featuring Chhabra, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bhuvan Bam and comedian Kaustubh Agarwal. During the roast-heavy episode, Chhabra mentioned his girlfriend while discussing how she might react to the jokes. Raina then asked whether she would be appearing in a film, prompting laughter from the panel and audience.

An alleged audience member later claimed on social media that Chhabra was upset by the joke and that filming was paused for around 15 minutes. The post also alleged that Bhuvan Bam helped ease the situation and suggested Raina subsequently made fewer jokes about Chhabra. However, these claims have not been independently verified.

Raina appeared to address the chatter by joking that Shaktimaan arrived, everyone apologised and then continued the show after touching Sunil Pal’s feet.

The episode also featured jokes involving Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s Thamma appearance and references involving Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha. The Chhabra segment, however, became the main focus of the social media discussion after the episode aired.
