Singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh created a heartwarming moment during his Aura India Tour concert at New Delhi's Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Friday. The performer paused his show to acknowledge security personnel and invited a woman CRPF officer on stage, telling her that she reminded him of his mother.

Dosanjh first asked the audience to applaud the security teams responsible for maintaining safety at the venue. He then saluted them and thanked them for their service.

“If you are not here, we wouldn't feel safe,” he told the crowd.

The singer subsequently invited the woman officer onto the stage and affectionately placed his hand on her head. Explaining the emotional connection, he said that he gets to meet his mother only once or twice a year, but seeing the officer standing there made him feel as though his mother was beside him.

He also recalled a conversation with his mother earlier that day, when she had asked him to take care of himself. The moment drew an affectionate response from the audience.

Diljit Responds to 'I'm an Artist, Bro' Controversy

The concert also saw Dosanjh address criticism over his earlier “I'm an artist, bro” remark, which followed questions about the CJP-led student protest.

Some social media users had interpreted his response as an attempt to avoid commenting on a politically sensitive issue. During the Delhi show, he defended his position and spoke about the Punjabi community's history of standing up for causes.

Referring to the film about activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, he said that Punjabis did not need lessons on fighting for important causes. He added that he preferred to remain quiet and spread love rather than respond to hostility.

Dosanjh reiterated his message of goodwill, telling the audience that he loved everyone.

Rain Delays and a High-Energy Performance

The concert was originally scheduled to begin at 4 pm, but Dosanjh later asked fans to reach the venue at 6:30 pm. Rain and logistical issues caused further delays, with the performance eventually starting around 7:40 pm.

The two-hour-and-20-minute show featured pyrotechnics, laser displays, a drone performance and synchronised light bands. The setlist included songs associated with Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, the Hare Ram Hare Ram track from Bhool Bhulaiyaa, and several of Dosanjh's popular hits.

The singer also interacted with fans, accepted gifts, posed for photographs and invited audience members on stage. His team had return gifts ready for selected fans.

Dosanjh acknowledged longtime listeners who had followed his music since the early 2000s, performing older tracks alongside recent favourites. His familiar call, “Panjabi Aa Gaye Oye!”, also featured during the concert and drone show.
