78th Emmy Awards Winners List: Widow's Bay, The Pitt Win Big

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards celebrated the biggest achievements in television at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on September 14. Hosted by Law & Order: SVU star Mariska Hargitay, the ceremony was also available for Indian viewers on JioHotstar.

Widow's Bay dominated the evening with 14 Emmy wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series. The Pitt secured the Outstanding Drama Series award, while Noah Wyle won Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for the show. Rhea Seehorn earned her first Emmy for Pluribus, and Jean Smart created history with her fifth consecutive Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series win for Hacks.

In the drama categories, The Pitt featured prominently among the nominees, while Tom Pelphrey won Supporting Actor for Task and Allison Janney took Supporting Actress for The Diplomat. In comedy, Matthew Rhys won Lead Actor for Widow's Bay, while Stephen Root won Supporting Actor for the same series.

David Harbour won Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for DTF St Louis, with Linda Cardellini winning the corresponding actress category. DTF St Louis also won both directing and writing awards in the limited-series categories.

Remarkably Bright Creatures won Outstanding Television Movie, while the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show starring Bad Bunny took the live variety special award. The Muppet Show won Outstanding Variety Special (Pre-Recorded), and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was named Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series.

South Park won Outstanding Animated Programme, adding another major award to the evening's diverse list of television honours.
