Samay Raina Jokes on NEET Paper Leak After Karthika Jalani Reveals Cancer Diagnosis

The latest bonus episode of India’s Got Latent featured an emotional moment when contestant Karthika Jalani revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer. Host Samay Raina then used dark humour to ease the tension, making a reference to the NEET paper leak controversy.

During the episode, Raina asked Jalani about a statement she had written on her form: “Hair is my full personality.” She explained that she had previously kept long hair but now had short hair. When Raina asked what had happened, Jalani disclosed her cancer diagnosis.

Raina immediately reacted with concern and pulled panellist Deepak Kalal’s microphone away, apparently anticipating an inappropriate joke. The unexpected move broke the tension and prompted laughter from Jalani and others on the show.

Jalani also described how she first discovered a small, painless lump. Although she initially thought it was insignificant, she said she visited a doctor the following day. According to her account, the doctor initially reassured her that there was nothing serious. She said her concern about cancer was also dismissed because of her age.

The conversation then took a characteristic dark-comedy turn. Looking at the camera, Raina made a joke linking the situation to the NEET paper leak controversy.

Jalani had appeared on the show to discuss her experience with cancer before performing stand-up comedy. Her diagnosis came up after Kalal asked why she was bald, leading her to explain the reason.

Meanwhile, Raina has recently been the subject of dating speculation involving fellow comedian Sharon Verma and actor Medha Shankr. He dismissed the speculation involving Verma as internet-driven rumours, while social media discussions have continued around his reported equation with Shankr.
