BB 19 Day 83: Gaurav Removed as Captain, Malti Faces Sexuality Rumours & House Erupts in Conflict

Day 83 of Bigg Boss 19 unfolded with intense confrontations, shifting power equations and uncomfortable conversations that pushed the house into yet another turbulent chapter. What began as a routine fallout from the captaincy task quickly escalated into a full-blown revolt, ending with Gaurav Khanna’s removal from captaincy—barely hours after he won it.

Gaurav’s Captaincy Backfires

The episode opened with strong reactions to Gaurav sacrificing 70% of the house ration to secure the captaincy. Malti Chahar and Amaal Mallik voiced disapproval early on, and soon the house gathered as Gaurav attempted to assign duties. However, Tanya Mittal and Farrhana Bhatt openly defied him moments into the distribution, triggering a ripple of resistance.

Sensing widespread dissatisfaction, Bigg Boss intervened. In a rare move, housemates were formally asked whether they supported Gaurav’s leadership. They then voted to overthrow him and instate Shehbaz Badesha as captain. Only Pranit More and Ashnoor Kaur backed Gaurav. This shift automatically gave Shehbaz immunity while placing Gaurav on the nominations list.

Tension, Apologies and Accusations

After the shock decision, Gaurav confided in Pranit and Ashnoor about feeling betrayed—especially by Malti, whom he accused of “flipping” her vote. Meanwhile, Amaal reassured Shehbaz that accepting the captaincy was not something to feel guilty about.

Later, when Gaurav confronted Shehbaz, the latter apologised for past harsh comments. But the apology did little to soothe the broader frustration simmering across the house.

Morning Spats and Sharp Taunts

The next morning began on a chaotic note. A brief kitchen disagreement between Kunickaa Sadanand and Gaurav resulted in a sarcastic remark from him, adding to ongoing tensions.

A brand sponsorship task offered a brief pause from conflict, which the contestants completed smoothly under Tanya’s supervision.

Sexuality Rumours Trigger Fallout

In one of the episode’s most controversial moments, Kunickaa Sadanand discussed her personal assumptions about Malti Chahar’s sexuality with Tanya Mittal, suggesting Malti was “a lesbian.” Although not said directly to Malti, the remark added fuel to the already sensitive environment.

Separately, Malti clashed with Farrhana after the latter used the word “Janani,” prompting a heated argument. Pranit More jokingly teased Malti about picking fights for attention, which she took lightly at the time.

But soon after, Malti refused household duties—including washing utensils—and declared she would not eat house-cooked food. Despite repeated persuasion attempts by captain Shehbaz, she stood firm. He eventually stepped in to complete the chore himself.

The next morning, Malti confided in Pranit that she was uncertain about continuing in the show.

Stand-Up Segment Highlights the Drama

As house tensions brewed, Pranit returned with another episode of his comedic segment, The Pranit More Show. He lightly roasted all contestants, including Malti—referencing her boycott—and Shehbaz, whom he mocked for pleading repeatedly with Tanya and Farrhana to complete tasks.

Tanya–Farrhana Rift Deepens

Tanya, disturbed by Farrhana’s allegedly derogatory tone during chores, confronted her and declared she would no longer speak to her. This conflict added yet another fracture in the already divided house.

With shifting alliances, open defiance and sensitive discussions dominating the day, Bigg Boss 19 continues to intensify as the finale inches closer.

New episodes air on JioHotstar at 9 p.m. and Colors TV at 10:30 p.m.
