A Rajouri terrorist hideout was uncovered by the Rashtriya Rifles during a search and cordon operation in a remote forest area of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday, October 28. Security personnel recovered hand grenades, ammunition and other items, officials said.
The operation took place in Doba Gali, in the upper reaches of the Kotranka subdivision of Rajouri district.
According to officials, the recovery included three hand grenades and four Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL) rounds. Troops also found 237 rounds of ammunition for AK assault rifles, 101 belted rounds for a General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) and 16 pistol rounds.
Other items recovered from the hideout included an AK rifle bayonet, a bag and a sheet.
No Arrests Reported, Operation Continues
No arrests were made during the operation, according to the officials cited in the report. The search and cordon operation was continuing when the latest information became available.
The recovery of grenades and ammunition prompted further security activity in the forest area as personnel continued their operation.
Officials did not provide details about who had used the hideout, how long it had been in use or whether the recovered material was linked to a specific terrorist organisation.
The operation forms part of security efforts in Jammu and Kashmir, where forces conduct searches in remote and forested areas to locate suspected hideouts and recover weapons or ammunition.
Further details about the operation and any subsequent developments were not available in the initial report.
