The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has begun the admission process for entry-level classes — Nursery, KG, and Class 1 — for the 2026–27 academic session. From December 4 to December 27, 2025, parents can fill and submit online application forms on the official website edudel.nic.in.

Each year, Delhi’s private unaided schools receive a large number of applications during this cycle, making it essential for parents to review school-specific criteria, point systems, and seat availability before submitting forms.

Key Dates for Delhi Nursery Admissions 2026–27

  • Application window: December 4 – 27, 2025

  • Schools upload applicant details: January 9, 2026

  • Points allocation announcement: January 16, 2026

  • First selection list: January 23, 2026

  • Query/clarification window: January 24 – February 3, 2026

  • Second selection list: February 9, 2026

  • Admission process concludes: March 19, 2026

Age Eligibility (as of March 31, 2026)

  • Nursery: 3+ years

  • KG: 4+ years

  • Class 1: 5+ years

Schools may offer age relaxation of up to one month at the discretion of the Head of School. The DoE has clarified that students currently enrolled in Nursery and KG for 2025–26 will move to the next class automatically.

Documents Required for Application

Parents should prepare the following documents before filling out the form:

  • Ration Card or Smart Card with parent’s name

  • Domicile certificate of child or either parent

  • Voter ID (EPIC) of any parent

  • Electricity/MTNL/Water bill or Passport with parent/child name

  • Aadhaar card of any parent

  4. Log in using registered credentials

  5. Fill the application form

Guidelines for Transparent Admission Process

The DoE has issued strict instructions to ensure fairness in admissions. Schools must conduct the draw of lots — whether digital or manual — in the presence of parents. All shortlisted candidates will be selected strictly based on notified criteria and point allocation.
