NCERT Class 9 New Textbooks Released for 2026-27

NCERT has begun releasing revised Class 9 textbooks for the 2026-27 academic session as part of the curriculum changes being introduced under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.

The revised Mathematics textbook, Ganita Manjari – Part 2, became available for purchase on September 21. Students, parents, teachers and schools can obtain it through NCERT’s authorised sales channels, including its sales counters, official website and Amazon.

The new Class 9 Social Science textbook, Understanding Society: India & Beyond – Part 2, is scheduled to go on sale from September 30. NCERT has advised schools and students to use the prescribed editions for the 2026-27 academic session.

The new books are being introduced through a phased rollout as the education system transitions to the revised curriculum. NCERT said the textbooks have been developed to reflect the learning requirements under the updated curricular framework.

The release of the Mathematics and Social Science books is part of the broader implementation plan for revised Class 9 learning resources. Students and teachers can check NCERT’s official channels for information about the availability of other textbooks and related updates.

With the new editions, Class 9 students beginning the 2026-27 academic session will gradually shift to textbooks aligned with the revised curriculum framework.
