The India vs Pakistan Asian Games 2026 final saw India post a formidable 211/6 in their allotted 20 overs after opting to bat first. Abhishek Sharma provided the early fireworks, smashing 61 runs from just 28 balls, including six sixes and three fours.

India lost Vaibhav Sooryavanshi early after the young batter attempted a premeditated reverse sweep against Saim Ayub. Sanju Samson also departed cheaply, but Abhishek continued attacking and brought up his half-century from only 20 balls.

India reached 81/2 during the Powerplay, putting pressure on Pakistan despite the early setbacks.

Tilak Varma delivers explosive finish

After Abhishek's dismissal, Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer helped steady the innings, although both struggled to maintain the early scoring rate. Ishan Kishan made 20 from 17 balls, while captain Shreyas Iyer scored 21 from 23.

Both batters fell in quick succession, leaving India at 133/5. That brought Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube together, and the pair transformed the momentum.

Dube contributed a brisk 23 from 13 balls before being dismissed in the final over, while Tilak Varma launched a spectacular assault at the death.

Varma smashed 51 from just 22 balls, hitting three fours and four sixes. He reached his fifty from 21 deliveries and helped India score 69 runs during the final four overs.

India eventually finished on 211/6, giving Pakistan a substantial target in the gold-medal clash.

Pakistan face challenging chase

Pakistan's bowling attack struggled to contain India's acceleration, particularly during the final overs. Ahmed Daniyal finished with two wickets, while Arafat Minhas also claimed two.

With 212 required for victory, Pakistan now face a demanding chase in the Asian Games 2026 final.
