Amritsar Soormas Win Sher-E-Punjab T20 League Title, Beat Ludhiana Lions by 8 Wickets

Amritsar Soormas were crowned champions of the inaugural Sher-E-Punjab T20 League after defeating Ludhiana Lions by eight wickets in the final at the I.S. Bindra Stadium in Mohali.

Chasing a target of 143, Amritsar completed the run chase in just 16.4 overs, finishing at 144 for two. Sahaj Dhawan played a composed unbeaten knock of 63 runs, while Rahul Kumar remained not out on 42 to guide the Soormas comfortably across the finish line.

The chase received an explosive boost from captain Naman Dhir, who smashed 29 runs from just 12 deliveries. His innings included four sixes and helped Amritsar maintain a strong scoring rate during the middle overs.

Amritsar lost Jashanpreet Singh for two early in the innings, but Dhawan and Dhir quickly put the pressure back on Ludhiana. Dhir was eventually dismissed by Kartik Chadha after scoring 29, bringing Rahul Kumar to the crease.

Dhawan then completed his half-century and continued to anchor the chase alongside Kumar. The pair kept the required run rate under control, with Kumar providing the finishing acceleration through boundaries, including a six in the 16th over.

The final was sealed when Sahaj Dhawan struck Rajvir Jaswal for a four and then a six in the 17th over, completing Amritsar's eight-wicket victory with 20 deliveries to spare.

The triumph capped a memorable campaign for Amritsar Soormas, with Naman Dhir emerging as one of the tournament's standout performers. His explosive batting and leadership played a key role in taking the team to the Sher-E-Punjab T20 League title.
