Jamia Millia Islamia has moved all classes online with immediate effect, with the arrangement continuing until further notice.

Jamia Millia Islamia online classes will continue across all courses after the university moved teaching activities online with immediate effect on October 24, 2026. The university cited the prevailing situation and the need to ensure the safety and security of students on campus.

According to a notice issued by the Office of the Registrar, the temporary arrangement will remain in force until further notice. The decision is intended to protect students while ensuring that academic activities continue without unnecessarily affecting their studies.

The order applies to all courses and is not restricted to a particular department or programme. Students are expected to attend classes online instead of travelling to the university until the administration announces a change.

Jamia Suspends Physical Classes, Teaching to Continue Online

The university has emphasised that the change in teaching mode is a precautionary measure focused on campus safety. Despite the suspension of regular classroom teaching, academic activities are expected to continue through online platforms.

All deans, heads of departments, directors, faculty members and students have been instructed to comply with the arrangement and ensure regular participation in classes.

The university has not announced a specific date for the resumption of in-person teaching. Students should therefore continue following the online schedule and instructions shared by their respective departments.

Faculty Asked to Arrange Online Classes

Faculty members have been directed to make the necessary arrangements for conducting classes through digital platforms. They have also been asked to provide relevant learning materials and academic support to help students continue their coursework.

Students should check communications from their departments for class links, schedules, study resources and other instructions. The university has stressed the importance of maintaining continuity in the teaching-learning process despite the temporary change.

The arrangement is intended to minimise disruption to academic progress while the university addresses the prevailing situation.

When Will Offline Classes Resume at Jamia?

Jamia Millia Islamia has not specified when students can return to physical classrooms. According to the notice, further updates regarding the arrangement will be communicated through the university’s official channels.

The order was issued by Registrar Professor Md. Mahtab Alam Rizvi. Until new instructions are announced, students and faculty members are expected to follow the online teaching arrangement.

Students should rely on official university communications for confirmation of any changes to class schedules or the return to campus.
