Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu: Chiranjeevi Confirms Sankranthi 2026 Release

Megastar Chiranjeevi has officially locked the Sankranthi 2026 release window for his upcoming action-comedy Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, setting the stage for a major festive box-office clash in Telugu cinema.

The film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 12, 2026, placing it right in the middle of a crowded Sankranthi lineup. Chiranjeevi’s release comes just three days after two high-profile pan-Indian films — Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan and Prabhas’ The Raja Saab — both slated for January 9, 2026.

Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu is positioned as a family-friendly entertainer blending action and comedy. Chiranjeevi plays a central character who becomes entangled in exposing a large corporate scandal while ensuring justice, with the narrative balancing mass appeal and Ravipudi’s signature humour.

The film features a strong supporting cast, including Nayanthara as the female lead and Venkatesh in an extended cameo, adding significant star value and anticipation around the project. The makers have described the film as a clean, festival-centric release aimed at attracting audiences across generations.

Announcing the release date, Chiranjeevi urged fans to celebrate the festival at theatres, reinforcing the film’s positioning as a communal Sankranthi viewing experience.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi also has the fantasy drama Vishwambhara, directed by Mallidi Vassishta, in the pipeline. The film, which was initially scheduled for an earlier release, has been postponed, with a new release date yet to be announced. Its cast includes Trisha Krishnan, Kunal Kapoor, Ashika Ranganath, Surbhi Puranik and Isha Chawla.

With Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, Chiranjeevi is once again aiming to dominate the festive box office, even as competition intensifies during the Sankranthi season.
