Nani Clarifies The Paradise Court Order: ‘It’s Not for Real Reviews or Criticism’

Actor Nani has clarified that the Bengaluru court order concerning The Paradise is aimed at allegedly defamatory, AI-generated and bot-driven content, rather than genuine audience reviews or criticism. Speaking at the film’s pre-release event in Mumbai, Nani said viewers remain free to watch the film and share their reactions, including negative opinions.

Nani said he had asked a member of his team about the court order and was told that the case involved concerns over computer-generated material being repeatedly posted online. According to the actor, the restrictions target people using AI and automated systems to generate such content rather than individual viewers expressing their views.

The clarification comes after a Bengaluru court granted an interim injunction to the producers of The Paradise against specific allegedly false and defamatory posts, comments and URLs. The order was passed on September 19 after the producers claimed that such material had appeared online following the film’s teaser release and could affect its commercial prospects.

The court order is limited to the allegedly defamatory URLs identified in the case and does not prohibit genuine public reviews or criticism. The interim order remains in force pending further proceedings, with the next hearing scheduled for October 28.

Directed by Srikanth Odela and starring Nani, The Paradise is scheduled to release in theatres on September 24, with select-city premieres on September 23.
