In a high-profile event in Lucknow, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, inaugurated the first batch of indigenously manufactured BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles, sending a strong strategic message to Pakistan. Singh emphasised that India’s growing military capabilities ensure national security while delivering a clear deterrence to any hostile designs.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, a military strike India conducted in May 2025 targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan following the deadly Pahalgam attack, Rajnath Singh described the operation as merely “a trailer” of India’s military might. “That trailer itself made Pakistan realise the extent of India’s capabilities. If India could give birth to Pakistan, then I need not elaborate further on what else it could do,” the Defence Minister asserted.
The flagging off of the BrahMos missiles signifies a critical milestone in India’s defence manufacturing sector, highlighting the nation’s self-reliance in advanced weaponry. With the supersonic missile’s extended range, Singh warned that every part of Pakistan now falls within India’s striking capability, reinforcing the country’s preparedness against external threats.
