Rashmika Mandanna Vijay Deverakonda Scholarships Announced in Thummanpet

Actors Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda have announced a scholarship initiative for students in Thummanpet, Telangana, shortly after their wedding. The couple visited Vijay’s native village in the Achampet division of Nagarkurnool district, where they pledged financial support for school children from underprivileged backgrounds.

During their visit to Thummanpet, the newlyweds interacted with local residents and shared details of the educational support programme. The scholarships will be facilitated through the Deverakonda Charitable Trust and are aimed at benefiting students studying in Classes 9 and 10 across 44 government schools in the region.

The initiative is designed to support teenagers who face financial difficulties, particularly at a crucial stage of their academic journey. Classes 9 and 10 are considered foundational years, especially as students prepare for board examinations that significantly influence their future educational and career paths.

Addressing the villagers in Telugu, Vijay Deverakonda explained the vision behind the programme and reaffirmed his family’s commitment to contributing to the development of their hometown. The announcement received a warm response from the local community, with villagers applauding the couple’s decision to invest in education.

Rashmika Mandanna stood beside Vijay during the event, expressing her support for the cause. Members of Vijay’s family, including his mother Madhavi, were also present and appeared emotional during the announcement. The visit reflected not just a ceremonial homecoming but a meaningful effort to give back to the community.

Apart from the scholarship announcement, the couple performed the Sathyanarayan Vratam puja at their newly constructed residence in the village as part of their post-wedding rituals. Vijay assured villagers that he and his family would continue visiting regularly and work towards the welfare of the area.

Rashmika and Vijay tied the knot on February 26 in a private ceremony at ITC Momentos Udaipur, attended by close family members and friends. The couple is also expected to host an invitation-only reception in Hyderabad for members of the film industry and political leaders.

On the professional front, the duo will soon share screen space in Ranabaali, scheduled for release in September. The film marks their third collaboration after successful projects like Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade.
